Grabbing the Audience’s Attention

Win the first 1–3 seconds with matching audio, energy, and visuals.

Grabbing the Audience’s Attention For the First 1-3 Seconds

This is the hardest part of making the video.

You have to give the audience a reason to watch the video.

The hook has to be related to the first sentence of your video. Going slightly off-tangent will cause the viewer to swipe off the video.

You can verbally say “watch until the end of the video” or promise the audience that you have something to tell them that they won’t regret if they continue to watch the video.

Avoid sounding monotone. A low-pitched monotone voice is the fastest way to lose their attention.

Sound enthusiastic, shocked, fearful, loud, and add emotions that will make the audience feel like they have to be invested in what you have to say.

Your personality matters. Be confident, be expressive, and believe in what you have to say.

The same thing applies to the video visually. The hook has to be related to the visual in the first scene.
