UGC Tips & Resources
Warming Up Your UGC Account
TikTok and Instagram warm-up schedules, first hour, and key signals.
Tiktok
- Days 1-2: Profile setup and browsing your local feed
- Days 3-5: Niche browsing and light engagement (like, comment, share)
- Days 6-10: One post per day
- Days 11-14: Testing different posting windows and formats
- Day 1-2: 3-5 feed actions a day
- Day 3-5: One Reel every 24-48 hours
Before Posting
- Scroll and engage genuinely in your niche for 10–15 minutes first. It reinforces to the algorithm what audience you belong to.
- Post when your specific audience is actually online: generally 7-9 AM, 12-1 PM, and 7-10 PM local time, but check your own analytics rather than assuming.
- Don't post from cold, brand-new accounts. Immediately posting high-volume content gets flagged, and this applies to any account that's been dormant for a while, too.
First Hour
- Reply to every comment in the first 30–60 minutes. It drives comment depth, which now ranks higher than comment count.
- Avoid posting right before bed or when your core audience is asleep. Posting when your audience is asleep makes both weak completion and weak follower engagement worse. Socialync
- Nail the hook. Watch time and completion rate carry roughly 40-50% of the algorithm's weight, and you now need a 70% completion rate to have a shot at going viral, up from 50% in 2024.
Signals Worth Noting
- Shares and saves outweigh likes. Encourage viewers to save/share the reason in the caption “save this for later” or “share this with your friend.”
- Rewatch is gold. Loop endings to the beginning, making it a seamless transition for rewatch.
- Never post TikTok watermarked content on Instagram. Instagram Reels suppresses TikTok watermarked uploads.
- Avoid posting all at once. Only do 1-3 posts per day.
